VNU School of Interdisciplinary Studies (SIS) and People’s Security Academy (PSA) welcomed and worked with US Institute of Global Engagement (IGE)
In the morning of June 27, 2018, the leaders of SIS and the representatives of PSA met and worked with the delegates from IGE led by Prof. James Chen, chairman of IGE.
Opening the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Hong Minh was delighted to welcome the delegation of IGE to visit and work in SIS.
Following the program, Mr. Do Huy Thuong introduced something about SIS and its functions while Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan gives a brief introduction about PSA.
On behalf of IGE, Prof. James Chen introduced the delegates of IGE attending the meeting. The chairman of IGE also did hope to strengthen international academic cooperation in order to create the international playgrounds for students from different countries with different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
In the discussion, the representatives from IGE expressed their deep interest in interdisciplinary programs and looked forward to further discussions on time, content and participants in short courses such as global security or global issues with the interdisciplinary approach.
Notably, the representatives of PSA suggested that the parties could jointly develop a shared training program with the participation of 70% of US professors and 30% of Vietnamese professors. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue their regular exchange with each other to jointly develop a training program that could meet the practical demands of Vietnam.
